What's New for the 2024 MAZDA MX-5 MIATA?

The Mazda MX-5 Miata originally debuted in 1989, and its spirited design and exceptional agility made it an immediate standout on the road. The fourth generation of the Mazda MX-5 Miata was introduced in 2016, and this two-seat sportster benefited from exciting updates while staying true to its heritage and personality. Going into the 2024 model year, the Mazda MX-5 Miata has a few additional improvements to enjoy.

The Mazda MX-5 Miata is a soft-top convertible, and the Mazda MX-5 Miata RF is a roadster coupe with a retractable hardtop. Visually, these models are almost identical except for their roofs. They both display a bold, curved profile with sleek elements that are part of Mazda's modern design language. The rear is strongly raked, while the back haunches are stunningly flared to express power. At the front, the Mazda MX-5 Miata and the Mazda MX-5 Miata RF have a low-mounted, black grille framed by aggressive, angled air vents and piercingly sharp LED headlights. The Mazda MX-5 Miata has auto headlights, auto high-beam assist, rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming and heated side mirrors, and 17-inch wheels. The Mazda MX-5 Miata RF adds to these features with front and rear spoilers.

All three of the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata's trim levels receive 181 horsepower from a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine. This engine pairs with a six-speed manual transmission as well as rear-wheel drive. If you opt for the Grand Touring trim level, you can upgrade to a six-speed auto transmission. Select trims add a limited-slip rear differential, a shock tower brace, Bilstein shock absorbers, and a sport-tuned suspension. The 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF has the same 181-horsepower engine in its two available trim levels. The auto transmission is optional for both trim levels and comes with paddle shifters.

The 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata and the Mazda MX-5 Miata RF have a cockpit-like interior that envelops the driver and passenger. Features that are available or standard at different trim levels for both models are leather seats, USB ports, a 7-inch color display screen, a push-button ignition, Android Auto with Apple CarPlay featuring wireless connectivity, a Bose sound system with nine speakers, heated seats, a navigation system, and several others.
