The 2025 Mazda CX-5 has two engine options. The base trims have a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 187 horsepower, while the higher trims feature a turbocharged version of the same engine generating 227 horsepower. Both engines include all-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission. Similarly, the 2025 Mazda CX-50 offers these engine choices and introduces a hybrid powertrain. The hybrid setup combines a non-turbo engine with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) to deliver 219 horsepower.
